René D. Flores is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Chicago, where he also co-directs the Immigration Workshop. His research examines international migration, race and ethnicity, and social stratification, with a focus on how social boundaries form around immigrants and racial minorities and contribute to ethnic inequality. His work has appeared in journals including the American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, and PNAS. He also serves as an Associate Editor at the American Journal of Sociology and on the editorial board of the American Sociological Review. Flores holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Policy from Princeton University and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from UC Berkeley.
