The focus of Lessons from the 1960s for Inequality was on what has been learned about public policy and inequality from initiatives such as the War on Poverty and Civil Rights legislations. As the 60th anniversary of Lyndon B. Johnson’s January 8, 1964, announcement of the War on Poverty approached, scholars from various perspectives evaluated the major efforts of the 1960s to address persistent disadvantages. This event was presented by The Stone Center for Research on Wealth Inequality and the California Center for Population Research at the University of California, Los Angeles.
