Kegon Tan seated at the Stone Center Launch Event in September 2022.

Summary

Kegon Tan visited the Stone Center from September 27 to November 22, 2022 to collaborate on two research projects related to religious-based inequality and intergenerational mobility of criminality. The first project analyzed the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on parole decisions for Muslim inmates, finding a large negative impact that was persistent and was more severe for inmates convicted of less serious crimes.

The second project investigated the intergenerational transmission of criminal justice contact by linking prison inmates in Georgia through names and other demographic details to infer family linkages.
